Gate City

A reading game for a young reader who reads below grade level, set in an anime dungeon-hunter world. Twelve gates follow the phonics sequence from three-letter words to multisyllable words and affixes, each with word lists, sight words, decodable sentences with comprehension questions and a boss passage. Every word and line is spoken by a neural voice that runs in the browser, every purchase in the shop is a money-math problem, and a save follows the player between devices with a name and a four-number code. The whole game is one HTML file.
